Lower River Room at The Mermaid London

The venue requires a minimum of 100 guests for dining events. This minimum applies to all catering services and cannot be reduced.

Pricing starts from £155 per person excluding VAT for dining packages. Christmas reception packages are available at £155 per person excluding VAT, which includes room hire, arrival drinks, 6-item bowl food, unlimited beer/wine/soft drinks, DJ, and dedicated event manager. Seated dinner options are available at £165 per person excluding VAT.

The Lower River Room is the primary dining space, suitable for dinners and parties. The Upper River Room can accommodate dining events and offers spectacular views of Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe and The Shard. Both River Rooms are available for conferences, AGMs, dinners and parties.

Christmas reception packages include room hire from 6:30pm to midnight with options to extend into the early hours. Day events typically run from 08:00-17:30, while evening events can extend until midnight or later with additional charges.

The venue offers bowl food packages (5-item at £40 per person excluding VAT), standing hot fork buffets, seated dinners, and Christmas-specific menus. All catering includes unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks packages, with options to add spirits. Pre-event menu tastings are included for Christmas packages.

Additional costs include staffing (event manager, stewards, security estimated at £1,798 excluding VAT), AV packages (from £1,100 excluding VAT), staging (£175 for small stage), and cash bar minimum spends (£2,000). Room hire charges may apply separately depending on the package chosen.

Basic AV packages start from £1,100 excluding VAT and include projectors, screens, and sound systems. Small staging is available for £175 excluding VAT. Christmas packages include DJ services, while other events may require separate entertainment arrangements.

For events with short lead times, the venue requires booking confirmation and 100% payment by the end of the week. Enquiries are automatically released from the system if no response is received by end of day Monday after initial contact.

Drinks receptions can take place at the back of the Newgate Suite or on the Mezzanine (shared space). Two-hour drinks receptions are available at £25 per person excluding VAT, with canapés available as add-ons at £13 per person excluding VAT for 4 pieces.

The venue specializes in large-scale events and maintains minimum guest requirements. All events require advance coordination for menu selection, AV needs, and staffing arrangements. The venue offers dedicated event managers and cloakroom services as standard for dining events.
