This is an impressive room by any standards. It is spacious with plenty of natural daylight and full of impressive, iconic period features of oak panelling and magnificent stained-glass windows, detailing a history of insurance companies from the past.

The Great Hall is suitable for various events including product launches, networking events, drink receptions, awards ceremonies, seated lunches and dinners, and Christmas parties.

The Great Hall can accommodate a maximum of 80 people for a sit-down 3-course meal. Exclusive evening hire costs £2,500 plus VAT, with day delegate rates starting at £75 plus VAT per person for conferences including room hire, equipment, refreshments and meals.

The venue uses an external caterer exclusively - no external caterers are permitted. Hot food service requires a minimum of 40 people. Catering options include sandwich lunches, bowl food buffets (£40 plus VAT per person for 3 bowls), canapés (£24 plus VAT for 6 per person), and 3-course dinners.

Unlimited red and white wine, bottled beers and soft drinks packages are available at £27 plus VAT per person. The venue can accommodate bar tabs rather than packages for larger events, with wine, beer and soft drink selections available.

Standard AV includes a 4.0m x 2.2m electronic projection screen, ballroom projector, PA system with lectern microphone and two handheld microphones. The stage dimensions are 13.4m x 1.4m for events requiring staging or presentations.

The venue only provides quotes for events until the end of March 2026 due to renovation plans in the new financial year. Bookings are not accepted for the first few months of the new financial year until renovation dates are finalized.

Theatre-style seating accommodates up to 260 people, while seated dinners are limited to 80 guests maximum. Standing receptions can accommodate larger numbers within the overall capacity, with flexibility for mixed formats during the same event.

External caterers are strictly prohibited - all catering must be provided through the venue's approved caterer. However, clients can bring their own entertainment such as DJs, bands, or other performers for events.

The £75 plus VAT per person Day Delegate Rate includes room hire from 9am-5:30pm, LCD projector and screen, complimentary Wi-Fi, dedicated Event Manager, three servings of premium tea and coffee, breakfast pastries, sandwich lunch (two rounds per person), and mid-morning snacks.

Events typically run during standard business hours with evening events extending until late. Setup access and specific timing requirements vary by event type and should be confirmed during booking, with the venue providing dedicated Event Manager support.
