The State Rooms at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens offer a variety of unique and unforgettable dining experiences. Whether it be a intimate dinner for 20 in the Red Room, surrounded by paintings and red silk damask, a regal occasion in the State Dining Room for 40, where Heads of State have wined and dined, or perhaps a statement banquet for 80 in the grand Throne Room. For larger galas and award ceremonies there are two stunning marquee site locations in the heart of the formal landscaped gardens that can accommodate 200-350 people within your own bespoke marquee space.
Marquee Sites
Based within the beautiful gardens of Hillsborough Castle there are two marquee sites available for hire. The Dining Room Terrace is in close proximity to the Castle itself and is perfect for up to 200 guests. The South Lawn Marquee is the largest marquee site as it can accommodate up to 350 guests and is nestled in the heart of the gardens. Sites are available for hire in both daytime and the evening and can be hired in conjunction with the castle state rooms therefore it is possible to host your ceremony in the historic castle and enjoy the beauties of the gardens for your reception.

Hillsborough Castle was a former market house dating back to 1760 and served as a central hub of trade and later for court proceedings to settle disputes between merchants. Today it is a blank canvas event space perfect for intimate wedding ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and dancing into the evening. It has a small stage for performers as well as banqueting chairs and tables that couples are welcome to use. The vaulted ceiling allows for a nice backdrop in where couples can decorate and add their own embellishments.

Hillsborough Castle and Gardens is a Georgian Manor House original owned by the Hill family estates in the early 1600s, More recently it has been home to the secretary of state for Northern Ireland and is still the home of the Royal Family when they visit. It is conveniently based just 20 minutes from Belfast.
The sumptuous state rooms are perfect for dining and receptions, whilst it's 100 acres of grounds are perfect for large outdoor events and marquees.
