Danish Cultural Institute
Creative Circular Cities (CCC) is an innovative project aimed at promoting circular transition at the local level by engaging the cultural and creative sectors. The project provides municipalities, business support organizations, and NGOs in the Baltic Sea Region with guidelines and tools to integrate Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI) into the circular economy. It involves a transnational co-creation process with six demo cities: Aarhus, Kiel, Gdynia, Riga, Tallinn, and Turku, which will collaboratively develop and test CCSI-driven approaches for an integrated circular transition. The project aims to create enabling environments for circular business models and promote circular lifestyles. The results will be compiled into a 'CCC Starter Kit' to guide other cities in the region. Funded by the EU’s Interreg Baltic Sea Region program, the project started in November 2023 and will run until November 2026, with a total budget of approximately four million euros.
