The Studio Theatre is an adaptable, high spec space ideal for conferences, seminars and corporate events and breakfast briefings. The Theatre can seat up to 292 theatre style, 200 cabaret style or be configured as an empty space. For hire, the space is equipped with AV facilities and supported by a technician.


This fantastic space truly is like no other and certainly not one to be missed. This stunning book lined space in the heart of the Library of Birmingham offers an iconic iconic setting for gala dinners and drinks receptions for up to 200 people.


The Shakespeare Memorial Room was created for the city’s Victorian library by John Henry Chamberlain in 1882. Following restoration by local craftsmen, this historical space now commands an impressive position at the very top of the Library of Birmingham, level 9. Hire of the Shakespeare Memorial Room also includes exclusive use of the adjoining Skyline Viewpoint boasting stunning panoramic views across the city.


Discovery Terrace situated on level 3 provides you and your guests with a beautiful outdoor garden terrace that boasts stunning views across Centenary Square. This is the perfect relaxed location for summer drinks, cocktail parties, BBQ's and networking events.


The Highlight / The Gallery, level 3 offers a fantastic space for drinks receptions for up to 100 people in the Highlight space adjacent to our exhibition gallery. Hiring this particular space can be combined with an exclusive viewing of the latest exhibition. Our Gallery exhibitions showcase some of the treasures from the library’s world-class archive, heritage and photography collections.


Baskerville Corner is an unusual place perfect for a banquet or holding a drinks reception for up to 160people.


Flexible meeting space, which can be split up into 2 or 3 rooms. Ideal for conferences, networking, boardroom meetings and exhibitions.


The mezzanine is a bright space suitable for catering and exhibitions. Can hold up to 15-20 exhibitors and a drinks reception for up to 300 people.


The House is an auditorium space that can hold up to 800. Can also hold dinners on the main stage for up to 240.


Tiered Auditorium - seating up to 140 theatre. Ideal for conferences or presentations.


This space is adjacent to The Book Rotunda and is great for arrival drinks before being seated in The Book Rotunda. Alternatively, The Knowledge Lounge can be used for dinners and before the library opens its's a unique space for a morning seminar.


The Suites over look Centenary Square and into the Library of Birmingham. They are fully air-conditioned and have great natural daylight. They can hold 200 theatre style or 90 cabaret as one space.


Our meeting room suite on level 1 of the library offers high-spec, flexible meeting rooms. All the meeting rooms benefit from natural daylight and views over Centenary Square. Each room is fitted with a digital screen and projector, and has Wifi access.

Unique Venues Birmingham (UVB) is a new commercial venture between Birmingham Repertory Theatre and the Library of Birmingham to exploit the excellent conferencing and hospitality opportunities offered within the shared building on Century Square in the centre of the city. UVB portfolio includes auditoria presenting huge dramatic and creative possibilities, a five storeys high rotunda and a beautiful roof terrace with panoramic views across the city. For more traditional requirements, we offer an array of suites and rooms complete with all of the audio-visual technology you could ask for.
