Kapellhaus hosts the "GERMANAIJAN" exhibition, which explores the traces of German heritage and architecture in Azerbaijan. This exhibition is dedicated to the resilience, endurance, and creativity of Germans who migrated to the Caucasus in search of a better life. It seeks to answer the question of who these people are and what they have contributed to modern Azerbaijan. The exhibition highlights the impact of the German community on contemporary Azerbaijan, featuring contributions from the Siemens Historical Institute and the National Archives of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It includes a collaborative project by Azerbaijani poet Leyli Salayeva and German illustrator Kseniya Finkin, which re-examines the history of the first German colonists in Azerbaijan. Multimedia artist Çinarə Məcidova documents German traces in Azerbaijan's northern regions and architectural landscape. The exhibition also showcases the ongoing cross-border project by British journalist Tomas Marsden, exploring the life stories of German immigrants and their descendants. Architectural themes are central to the exhibition, with a map graphically visualizing the significance of German influences in Baku's skyline. The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Azerbaijan, supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the German Federal Foreign Office's "Cultural Heritage Preservation Program."
