The Hire Space Awards 2018: The Highlights

The Hire Space Awards celebrate the very best venues and event professionals from across the events industry. We welcomed 250 event professionals to the Museum of London on 24th October - the final day of EventLAB.

Guests were welcomed with bubbly and the sounds of the Strolling Vagabonds, who kept everyone entertained as they walked through the museum galleries after dark.

Stationed within the fascinating exhibits that showcase the history of London were Smith & Sinclair with their equally fascinating 'cocktails'. From alcoholic gummies in everything from Mocha Espresso Martini to Amaretto Sour, alongside a show-stopping display of 'breathable' mojito.

Next stop in the night at the museum was a bespoke bar created by Looking Glass Cocktail Club, serving two beautiful cocktails designed especially for the evening.

The final destination was the Sackler Hall which had been transformed for the glamorous evening ahead. The space was branded throughout, with bespoke ice sculpture centrepieces created by Icebox  and the 360 digital ellipse adding a special twist to the winners announcements.

Moving Venue provided an incredible three-course dinner of spiced crab tartlet, parsnip, poppy seed and kohlrabi salad, trout roe dressing, followed by venison shoulder, baked anna potatoes, garlic chanterney carrots, beetroot ketchup, red wine and cinnamon sauce, and gingerbread sponge, frosted meringue shards, bitter coffee and hazelnut cream to finish. Entertainment throughout the evening was provided by Stormont London, with Lee Turner adding some magic and Randolf Matthias finishing the evening with his beautiful vocals.

Comedian Mark Dolan then took to the stage to present the 15 awards across four categories. It was a true celebration of talent and achievement in marketing, customer service, creativity and of course this year's 'Unsung Hero'.
