From January 15 to January 19, WeGil hosts the exhibition "1su7 Silenziosamente", curated by Luca Temolo Dall’Igna. This unique and touching exhibition is organized in collaboration with Porte Aperte, a leading independent Christian missionary organization active in 70 countries, aimed at protecting and supporting persecuted Christians worldwide. The event highlights the alarming statistic that one in seven Christians globally suffers persecution or discrimination due to their faith, amounting to over 365 million people. The exhibition aims to raise awareness about this sensitive issue and demonstrate how individuals can take action to break the silence surrounding it. It visually presents the harsh realities and diverse contexts of contemporary anti-Christian persecution while also showcasing the psychological support offered by Porte Aperte to victims, including a self-painting project for women affected by anti-Christian violence in sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, the artistic expression of Luciana Gallo complements the photographic exhibition, exploring deeply rooted themes in the Christian experience. The exhibition is a rare and valuable event in contemporary art, addressing existential analyses of the inner world of those consciously inhabiting the Christian universe while also serving as a voice for a significant political and social issue.
