Galleria del Cardinale Colonna
The Galleria del Cardinale Colonna, also known as Galleria Nuova, was constructed in 1730 by architect Paolo Posi. This stunning venue features three sections: two wings and a central rotunda supported by ancient yellow columns, reportedly sourced from the Pantheon. Originally intended as a library and to house an expanding collection of paintings and archaeological artifacts, the gallery is connected to a garden via two bridges. It has served various purposes over the years, including as a ballroom during the tenure of the French ambassador. The venue is ideal for hosting meetings, weddings, and high-fashion shows, providing a unique historical backdrop for any event. The gallery's rich history includes notable events such as the baptism of the Savoia twins in 1803, attended by Pope Pius VII. With its elegant architecture and historical significance, the Galleria del Cardinale Colonna offers a remarkable setting for a variety of events.
