What are the room hire costs and minimum spend requirements for The Common Room?
The Common Room has three pricing options: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM costs £3,600 + VAT with £3,000 minimum spend on food and drinks; 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM costs £2,300 + VAT with £1,500 minimum spend; and 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM costs £2,750 + VAT with £5,000 minimum spend. All prices exclude VAT and the minimum spend is mandatory for food and beverage purchases.
What are the capacity limits for different seating arrangements in The Common Room?
The Common Room can accommodate up to 244 guests theatre style with stage and catering in adjacent space, 180 guests theatre style with stage in the room, 150 theatre style with catering served in the room, 144 guests with catering served in a different room for breaks, or 96 guests cabaret style with catering served in the room. The maximum capacity with stage setup is 244 people.
What AV equipment is included and what are the additional costs?
Standard AV package costs £400 + VAT and includes stage, screen/projector, two repeater screens, lectern with lectern microphone, handheld microphone, flipchart, and PA system. An AV technician is provided to assist with setup. This package is suitable for most business presentations and conferences.
What DDR (Delegate Day Rate) packages are available for business events?
DDR packages start from £60 + VAT per person (minimum 100 guests) including room hire 9:00-17:00, arrival tea/coffee/pastries, executive lunch, AV equipment, filtered water, dedicated team, cloakroom, Wi-Fi, and digital signage. Higher-tier packages at £72.90 + VAT and £103.50 + VAT per person include additional refreshment breaks and enhanced services.
Are there smaller meeting rooms available and what do they cost?
The Holborn & Lincoln room accommodates up to 20 guests boardroom style and costs £950 + VAT per day (9am-5pm) with a minimum catering spend of £200 + VAT per day. An additional Lincoln Screen costs £150 + VAT per day. The Strand, Fleet & Bell suites can be hired individually or together and are fully soundproofed with built-in AV.
What catering options and costs are available for business events?
In-house catering is provided by Graysons with various options including two-course dinner at £57 + VAT per person, executive lunch packages, and arrival refreshments. All catering must meet the minimum spend requirements which vary by room and time slot. External catering is not mentioned as an option.
What are the setup and access arrangements for event organizers?
Event organizers receive early access from 8:00 AM for full-day bookings or one hour before evening events (e.g., 17:00 for 18:00 start). A registration table can be provided in the main foyer, and the venue includes dedicated team support, directional signage, and personalized digital welcome signs.
What security and building access procedures apply?
The venue provides security as part of evening packages and has reception security team who welcome guests and notify event organizers of arrivals. During weekdays, the building is open to the public and Law Society members, which may affect filming or exclusive use requirements. Weekend events have different arrangements.
Are there any restrictions on dates or booking flexibility?
The venue operates standard business hours and some dates may not be available due to Law Society activities. Weekend bookings have different minimum spend requirements starting from £10,000 + VAT. The venue can accommodate multi-day bookings with potential discounts for extended hire periods.
