The Roseate Reading is a five-star hotel with 55 bedrooms at 26 The Forbury in Reading, Berkshire, in the Thames Valley. The building is listed and was built in 1911 as the Shire Hall for Berkshire County Council, and its original features have been restored, including wide hallways, vaulted ceilings, cornice mouldings and the original lift shaft, which houses an Italian chandelier with 86,000 individual glass beads. Accommodation ranges from Roseate Rooms, described as private sanctuaries with plenty of daylight, to House Rooms and House Junior Suites, which combine vintage charm with contemporary design, as well as Family Rooms and Family Suites. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The hotel offers a restaurant and bar, catering for events, meeting rooms on site, group rates and room blocks for groups, along with wheelchair accessibility and paid parking. A restored council chamber called Eden is also available.
