The estate was passed down through families of English nobility, before becoming a top secret centre for military intelligence during World War II. Today, the hotel has undergone a £7m refurbishment to add 21st-century comfort and style whilst complementing the original character of the property. The hotel offers 205 rooms across three distinct buildings: the historic Mansion House with 103 rooms, the Waterhouse building with 51 rooms, and the Mews building with 51 rooms. Set in 30 acres of peaceful formal gardens with sweeping views of the Chess Valley, the property features a fully equipped gym, indoor swimming pool, sauna, and steam room.
