Spaces in Bishopsgate Institute
The Great Hall creates a dramatic impression with its beautiful Victorian features, original glass lantern in the ceiling and permanent inbuilt stage. The space is equipped with impressive and flexible lighting and excellent audio visual capabilities making it perfect for both conferences and receptions. Balancing grandeur and a warm welcome perfectly, it has been a home - for over a hundred years - to product launches, presentations, lectures, music events, award ceremonies and dancing. The nearby Green Room is a perfect addition as a preparation space to accommodate speakers or bands.
Originally the Library’s reading room, the Upper Hall is a chameleon space which can be configured in an infinite variety of ways for both daytime and evening events. With natural light on all sides, the flexible nature of the space can accommodate events from large-scale conferences, product launches and exhibitions, to away days and workshops. Its proximity to the Great Hall makes it an excellent catering break-out space. We can easily divide the space into multiple areas to ensure we can host a function space tailored to your needs.
This self-contained meeting room is ideal for training away-days, presentations and AGMs with a large smart display, and flexible modular furniture. This adaptable room is air conditioned, has plenty of natural daylight, and a connected private courtyard patio space. Open up the doors and its transformed for networking and meet-and-greet. Located directly opposite is The Goss Room which can be used alongside the Courtyard Room as a general purpose breakout area for work-shopping and team-building activities.
At the end of the nineteenth century the Boardroom was the meeting place for the Bishopsgate Foundation's trustees and founders. In 2011 it was sympathetically refurbished to retain many of its original features and much of its grandeur. A Victorian panelled room with high ceilings, a large fireplace, and the bust and portrait of our founder the Reverend William Rodgers, it has a grand, parliamentary feel. It is used for AGMs, presentations and networking events requiring a sense of occasion, and is also a popular filming location.
This charming space is richly steeped in history and adds incredible gravitas to any event. The room's Victorian features - including original shelves filled with books dating back over a hundred years - provide a beautiful backdrop to receptions and networking events, complete with bar and catering areas. The room can be reconfigured with low staging and flexible AV for intimate presentations in this enchanting setting. The rear library provides an adjoining area which can be used for additional presentations or as a further display space.
