What are the pricing options for evening events in the Theatre & Atrium space?

Evening hire for the Theatre & Atrium is £2,500+VAT with a minimum catering spend of £20+VAT per person, based on hire from 18:30-22:30. For events on specific dates, reduced rates may be available - for example, £2,000+VAT room hire with £2,000+VAT minimum catering spend total.

What is the maximum capacity for events and what spaces are available?

The Theatre with adjoining Atrium can accommodate up to 120 people for seated events. The Studio & Balcony space is also available for smaller events up to 50 delegates in cabaret layout, with the Balcony offering views of the Shard for networking breaks.

What AV equipment and technical support is included with venue hire?

Theatre hire includes screen and projector, lectern with comfort monitor and mic, PA system and speakers, 1 roving mic, electronic pointer/clicker, ability to colour wash the space, and an AV technician as standard. Additional charges apply for event filming or livestreaming.

What are the catering options and minimum spend requirements?

Standard minimum catering spend is £20+VAT per person with minimum 60 people for half-day events. Options include tea/coffee at £2.99+VAT per person per break, light lunch from £24+VAT per person, mini muffins £2.50+VAT, cookies £2.00+VAT, and gluten-free brownie bites £2.50+VAT per person.

What are the standard hire times and can they be adjusted?

Standard evening hire runs 18:30-22:30, half-day hire is typically 13:00-17:00, and full day hire runs 08:30-17:00. Custom timings can be accommodated - for example, 15:30-18:30 has been offered for specific bookings with adjusted catering requirements.

What are the payment terms and booking confirmation requirements?

For short lead bookings, confirmation may be required by end of play the following day with full pre-payment required by close of play within a specified timeframe (e.g., 11th September for a September 25th event). Standard payment terms may vary for longer lead bookings.

Is there a Day Delegate Rate option and what does it include?

Yes, Day Delegate Rate is £79+VAT per person with minimum 40 people for Studio & Balcony hire from 08:30-17:00. This includes breakfast on arrival, mid-morning refreshments, individually served lunch, afternoon refreshments, full AV equipment, onsite technician, security, and event management.

Can the minimum catering spend be waived or reduced for certain events?

Yes, for specific circumstances such as short lead bookings or events requiring only basic refreshments, the minimum catering spend can be waived. For example, tea and coffee only service has been offered without the standard £20+VAT per person minimum spend.

What outdoor space options are available for summer events?

Guy's Courtyard is available for outdoor events up to 350 attendees, located adjacent to the Shard. A Summer Party Package is offered at £99+VAT per person (minimum 100 people) including courtyard hire 18:30-22:00, wet weather option, summer cocktail on arrival, BBQ menu, half bottle wine or two beers per person, event management, security, bar, and uplighters.

Are there any restrictions on filming, exhibitions access, or event timing?

Additional charges apply for event filming or livestreaming beyond standard AV support. Exhibition access for guests can be arranged when exhibitions are running - some periods may have no exhibitions during venue preparation for upcoming exhibits. The venue operates 7 days a week for events.
