5 Reasons Why We Love Conferences at East Wintergarden

If you're looking to smash through the glass ceiling of conference standards, there's one spectacular space in central London that perfectly fits the bill. Situated in the heart of ultra-modern Canary Wharf, East Wintergarden is a striking glass structure with a 27 metre-tall domed ceiling and all the amenities required to dazzle delegates.

For full transparency on why this venue makes for a smashing conference, we've compiled five of our favourite East Wintergarden features here. Go window-shopping for inspiration and the ideal space below, or get in touch with one of our venue experts to learn more!

1. The spaces are surprisingly flexible

East Wintergarden might be made of glass, but its floor plan can be moulded to fit any layout you have in mind for your conference. With three event spaces of varying sizes, the venue is equipped to offer a conference for up to 600 seated guests in the Main Hall, along with a breakout space or backstage area in the Promenade Room, and a separate area for catering and networking in the mezzanine floor's Gallery. The venue can also accommodate registration areas and cloakrooms, or exhibition booths.

For smaller events, the Main Hall can be divided into two sections, allowing the addition of an extra networking lounge. Alternatively, the Gallery can be set up to host up to 120 attendees theatre-style in an intimate setting, with unparalleled views of Canary Wharf. However you envision your event, East Wintergarden will make it work for you.

2. Its location is ideal

East Wintergarden is easily accessible by public transport, with the Jubilee Line a three minute walk from the venue's entrance (the journey time from London Bridge is just 7 minutes). The DLR also has a station at Heron Quays, just a stone's throw from the doors, and with buses and ample car parking spaces, attendees shouldn't have any problem making their way to the venue.

Alternatively, encourage delegates to go green and attend by bike! Canary Wharf is ideally situated on the London Cycle Network, and for the last leg of the 19 minute cycle from Liverpool Street Station to East Wintergarden, cyclists will be rewarded with uninterrupted riverbank views!

3. It has top-notch technical support and amenities

The venue comes complete with AV production and lighting rigs, including striking ledge-lights that transform the Main Hall with bursts of colour. The team at East Wintergarden are on hand to manage all things tech, making the process of setting your event up entirely stress-free. From sound to visuals, and lighting to live-streaming, the building is kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment, and the experienced in-house crew will handle all of it on the day.

4. It's live-stream ready for hybrid events

While we're on the topic of technical support, we'd be amiss not to point out the venue's live-streaming capabilities! It's likely that for the foreseeable future, some delegates won't feel comfortable, or be able to, attend events in person, and having an option for them to tune in remotely is essential.

Luckily, East Wintergarden is fully equipped to support HD live-streaming, giving remote delegates the same great experience as those attending in person. Their hybrid conference packages include a stream technician and camera operator, as well as a stream laptop and back-up system alongside the regular conference set up.

5. Its interior and surroundings are equally stunning

Located in the heart of the iconic Canary Wharf development, there's a reason this venue is almost entirely see-through! With views of the London skyline, Canary Wharf docks, and Jubilee Park, this venue doesn't miss an inch of the prime panoramas around it.

Meanwhile, the equally-arresting interior of the building is pared back enough to be fully customisable, and is sure to set the stage for an inspiring conference. While the sunset might steal the show with a colour display at soirées, the venue's abundant natural daylight means there'll be a spotlight on your event at any time of day.

Now you've peered into the enviable world of East Wintergarden, it's time to experience the splendour of the venue for yourself. Enquire about booking the venue today, or speak to one of our venue experts about how this striking space could brighten your conference - we'll help you see the light!
