Stage 1 at Northern Stage Newcastle

Stage 1 is Northern Stage’s largest auditorium, offering an impressive setting for theatrical productions, conferences, presentations, award ceremonies and large-scale corporate events. With seating for up to 447 guests, the space has hosted prestigious events including BBC Question Time, the British Science Festival and Virgin StartUp with Richard Branson. Venue hire includes technical support, front-of-house management, ushering services and access to dressing rooms, ensuring a seamless experience for both performance and business events.

Did you know that the money we make through venue hire and Café Bar sales directly funds our charitable work offstage as well as our world-class productions onstage? So, if you’re looking to hire an event space in Newcastle city centre for an engagement party, birthday party, wedding, corporate event, theatre performance or more, you’ll be supporting us whilst celebrating! Northern Stage has a variety of spaces that can be hired to help create your perfect event.
