Theatre 2 at Music Box Theatre

Theatre 1 is a captivating auditorium that offers a unique cinematic experience. Built in 1929, it features an enchanting atmosphere reminiscent of an outdoor Mediterranean theater, complete with twinkling stars and sandy stucco walls. With a seating capacity of 700, it is designed to feel both grand and intimate. The space is equipped with a native 1.85:1 screen and advanced projection capabilities, including a Barco 4k digital cinema projector and Century JJ film projectors for 35mm and 70mm films. Theatre 1 is one of the few venues in the country still screening 70mm film, making it an exceptional choice for film festivals and special screenings. The auditorium also boasts a specially commissioned 36-foot wide fast-fold screen for large format presentations, ensuring a memorable viewing experience for audiences. This space is ideal for film screenings, private events, and special engagements, providing a blend of historical charm and modern technology.
