Unique Venue Of The Month

Jaw-Dropping Events at the Museum of London Venues

This month’s Unique Venue of the Month comes in the form of not one, but two unique venues! Whether you’re looking for somewhere to hold a post-isolation conference, party or drinks reception in London, this pair of venues is sure to inject that special sparkle that you’ve been searching for.

If you hadn’t guessed it already, we are (of course!) talking about the beautiful, fascinating Museum of London and Museum of London Docklands. It's also worth mentioning that the Museum of London's event spaces are soon to be closed for a brand new refurbishment project, so this is your last chance to organise a party or event - why not see this year out with a bang and host a festive Christmas get-together!

Here’s why we love them so much...

Heavenly history

The Museum of London tells the incredible story of Great Britain’s capital city – from the Great Fire of London to the plague to the Blitz. Meanwhile, the Museum of London Docklands explores the 2000-year history of London’s river, port and people – from the arrival of the Romans to the rise of Canary Wharf. So, if you’re looking to make history with your post-isolation event, where better to hold it than in one of London’s most intriguing museums?!

Both boast a large choice of rooms, but if you really want to embrace that history, why not look at hiring one of their galleries? From the Museum of London’s ‘London Before London’ gallery to the Museum of London Dockland’s Sailortown gallery, there’s something for every occasion and every taste!

Amazing architecture

These two inspiring venues couldn’t look more different, but they’re equally striking in their own unique ways.

As Canary Wharf’s only Grade I listed building, the Museum of London Docklands is bursting with character. Situated in a converted late-Georgian sugar warehouse, it offers a jaw-dropping setting for events – from meetings to parties, conferences to weddings. We’re talking exposed beams, brick walls and gorgeous wooden floors in a charming industrial style.

In striking contrast, the Museum of London is a slick, modern and high-tech event space with a futuristic bar, stunning 230-seat theatre and stylish terrace. Couple this with its immersive galleries that span more than 45,000 years of history, and there you have it – a unique and memorable venue that will form the perfect backdrop for just about any occasion in your calendar!

Luxurious locations

Between the two of them, the Museum of London and Museum of London Docklands have got London’s coolest locations covered.

If you’re after a Central London location, you can’t get much better than the Museum of London’s spot just a stone’s throw from Barbican, St Paul’s and Moorgate stations. Packed with trendy markets, shops, cafes and restaurants, it’s a buzzing part of the city that’s great for attendees who want to make a day of it.

Alternatively, you could opt for the bright lights of one of London’s swankiest destinations. The Museum of London Docklands can be found right in the heart of Canary Wharf, so whether your delegates feel like a walk along the Thames or fancy checking out one of the city’s best shopping destinations, there’s something for everyone. And that's not to mention that this five-floor building boasts some pretty impressive views of Canary Wharf's skyline!

Fantastically flexible

As if these beautiful venues didn't have enough going for them, they're also lucky enough to offer a host of diverse spaces, ranging in capacity from 20 to 2,000.

The great thing about these bigger spaces in the 'new normal' we're approaching is that they have plenty of potential for social distancing, with room for a controlled flow of traffic and better still, lots of space for the 2-metre rule to be enforced.
