UC San Diego's Mandeville Auditorium is a leading mid-size performance venue in San Diego. The 752-seat space is suitable for a full range of performing arts including dance, concerts, and theater, as well as special events like conferences and lectures. The auditorium has hosted renowned productions and local groups such as La Jolla Symphony & Chorus, San Diego Ballet, and UC San Diego's Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, and Gospel Choir. Conveniently located near Interstate 5, the auditorium features a 42-foot-wide by 30-foot-deep stage, comfortable seating, flexible lighting grid, and a professional audio system. The front rows can be reconfigured for different seating plans, and easy load-in is ensured with wide side doors and a spacious loading dock with a freight elevator. Designed by architect A. Quincy Jones, the auditorium stands out with its modernist and 'brutalist' architecture, surrounded by mature eucalyptus trees.
