Whole Venue at Platform L

Platform L. Contemporary Art Center is located in a residential area in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The irregular trapezoidal site, surrounded by streets on three sides, was a design challenge. The building code regulation limiting the building coverage to 60% of the total site area was a key factor in the design of Platform-L. Due to this restriction, most projects typically place the parking lot on the ground and designate a large mass that covers the rest of the site. However, Platform-L places the parking lot underground, thereby freeing up the sloping land.
