Formerly famed for the simple pies and smoked fish that would sustain a days trade, The Royal Exchange is now home to two welcoming restaurants. Enjoy wholesome seasonal fare prepared with the finest quality produce from lunch until late. Choose from snacks for the table, starters, seafood dishes, a selection of dry-aged steaks and grande cuts alongside traditional mains and desserts. The restaurant can host up to 70 guests exclusively or 150 with full venue hire.

Whether you're hosting a corporate lunch or a post-work social, our versatile main bar area is ideal for any gathering. With a large AV equipment list to excel any event on the ground floor. Enjoy raised seating areas and an inviting atmosphere perfect for eating, drinking and networking.

This lively city gem also offers a vibrant atmosphere with live DJ performances every Thursday evening from September to May.

Available for weekend exclusive hires too.

The Hidden Garden is an elegant event space nestled on the mezzanine floor of the Royal Exchange. 

This location allows guests to enjoy stunning views of the bustling courtyard below, without any disruptions.

Our venue boasts its own eight metre long bar, accommodating up to 50 individuals for formal dinners, or 250 guests in a standing setting.

We have three distinct spaces within the venue: 

The Bar - To stand, sup and socialise.
Lounge  - For views and relaxation. 
Events Space - A blank canvas to bring your vision to life.
