Located on the ground floor, the Reading Room is prefect for canape receptions, private dinners, award ceremonies, special celebrations. With its fireplace frieze carved by British sculptor Gilbert Bayes, bets known for the Queen of Time clock above Selfridges' main doorway, and flanked by marble columns the spacious Reading Room is exceptionally versatile.

The Beatrice Webb Room can be used for a wedding ceremony up to 125 seated and is fully licensed. The room is lightly decorated with a small amount of art around the room and makes for the perfect back drop to the Mall/St James's Park.

Whether you prefer to be seated or standing, the Beatrice Webb Room boasts capacities of 100 for a wedding breakfast and 150 guests standing. With the light colour of the room, you can decorate as you please to make the room suitable for your perfect day.

Whenever the Beatrice Webb Room is hired, you immediately receive the Gallery space for drinks.

{10-11} Carlton House Terrace

An opulent ground floor room with ornate features and a private terrace in a historic central London venue.

The Carlton Room on the ground floor used to be the smoking room of the United Service Club.  It is adorned with many rich decorative features including the dramatic Ionic columns in the centre of the room.  These are finished in scagliola; a skillful plaster treatment designed to imitate marble and add to the splendour in the room.  The walls are also covered by gold leaf on linen; a very expensive and delicate treatment enriching the overall impression of opulence.

The south facing doors open onto a private terrace with views across the garden.
