The Conservatory Terrace overlooks the tropical treetops of the Conservatory, providing a magical setting for Christmas parties, summer parties, and corporate parties. This space can host up to 200 guests, or it can be combined with the Conservatory and Garden Room to host up to 650 guests.



Frequently asked questions

Evening venue hire (17:30-00:00) costs £7,800+VAT with a minimum catering spend of £3,000+VAT. The space accommodates 220 banquet, 180 dinner/dance, 450 reception, 180 seated buffet, or 350 fork buffet. Additional AV equipment includes PA system & microphone for £111+VAT and 55" LCD screens for £175+VAT.

The Frobisher Triple Room accommodates 170 theatre style or 96 cabaret style. Day hire (08:30-17:00) costs £3,200+VAT with overnight hold at £950+VAT and minimum catering spend of £1,500+VAT. The suites feature sliding partitions for flexible space configuration and include LCD projector, screen, and Wi-Fi.

Cinema 1 has 280 capacity in raked auditorium style. Day hire (08:30-17:00) costs £6,100+VAT, evening hire (17:30-23:00) costs £5,100+VAT. Includes 34000lms 4K DLP cinema projector, screen, PA system, 3 cabled microphones, Wi-Fi, full house lighting system, and dedicated technician for sound and lighting.

All invoices must be paid prior to the event going ahead. Contracts must be signed before the event date. The venue requires both payment completion and signed contracts as mandatory prerequisites for any event to take place.

Tenancy times include setup and breakdown within the hire period. The venue recommends 1.5 hours for setup and 30 minutes for breakdown. For additional hours beyond the standard hire period, you must speak to your sales contact for pricing and availability.

Both Cinema 1 and Auditorium 1 have 220 capacity, but these spaces book up quickly. The venue frequently has to decline bookings due to prior reservations, particularly for popular dates. Early booking is essential as alternative venue sourcing may be offered if spaces are unavailable.

Frobisher Suites include LCD projector (8000lms WUXGA resolution), screen, and Wi-Fi. Cinema 1 includes 4K DLP cinema projector (34000lms), PA system, 3 cabled microphones, full lighting system, and dedicated technician. Garden Room & Conservatory require separate hire of PA system (£111+VAT) and LCD screens (£175+VAT).

The venue experiences high demand with frequent unavailability, particularly for conference groups that can block multiple days (8th-10th September mentioned as example). Popular evening slots and autumn dates show limited availability. The venue may offer alternative venue sourcing when spaces are unavailable.

Garden Room & Conservatory has £3,000+VAT minimum catering spend, Frobisher Suites require £1,500+VAT minimum, and Cinema 1 has £5,000+VAT minimum spend. All catering is provided by Searcys, the venue's exclusive catering partner, with menus available upon request.

Day hire typically runs 08:30-17:00, evening hire runs 17:30-00:00 or 17:30-23:00 depending on the space. Setup access is included within these times, though additional early access may be available for extra charges (mentioned as £750+VAT per hour for some spaces).

The Barbican Centre was built after Barbican Estate which is a housing complex situated in an area that was bombed heavily in WWII.
