Located within the RSM's member's Area, The Wimpole and Hewit Rooms are perfect for any and all private events - whether it be for a Christmas party, birthday celebration, corporate social event or office party. Seating up to 35 guests depending on room layout, there is plenty of space to sit and dine but also to move around and socialise with others. Frequently asked questions

The Max Rayne Auditorium costs £3,190 for a 4-hour hire (1pm-5pm) and includes complimentary use of the Atrium catering space. Weekend bookings require a minimum spend of £3,000 plus VAT. The Wheatley Room costs £1,800 plus VAT for a full day (8am-5pm) with a minimum of 30 people for catering.

The venue operates during standard business hours and evening events can run until 10pm maximum. Service ends at 10pm to allow guests time to wind down and depart. Evening availability is typically from 6:30pm-10pm for private events.

Standard catering includes tea/coffee with biscuits (£4.30 per person), working lunch (£26.25 per person), and canapés at £23.00 for 6 per person. Drinks include house wine at £25.50 per bottle, beers at £5.00 per bottle, and soft drinks at £2.00 per can. Minimum catering numbers are 90 people for most events, with some rooms requiring only 15-30 minimum.

No external food or drink is allowed into the venue. All catering must be provided by the venue's in-house kitchen and catering teams. This policy applies to all private events and dining occasions.

The Max Rayne Auditorium includes a projector, 2 handheld microphones, 2 lapel microphones, and lectern as standard. Additional equipment available for hire includes PA systems (£250), AV technician support (£950), laptops (£150), and video conference kits (£90). Some rooms include LCD screens as standard.

All quotes are valid for 5 days only. The venue does not automatically hold space when providing quotes - you must specifically request a temporary hold. Site visits can be arranged to check room suitability before booking.

The Max Rayne Auditorium holds 146 in theatre style, the Wheatley Room accommodates 72 in cabaret style or 80 in theatre style, and the Marcus Beck Library seats 30 in fixed U-shape layout. The Heritage Centre has a maximum of 17 in boardroom layout and is temperature controlled at 20°C which cannot be altered.

The Heritage Centre is temperature controlled at exactly 20°C to preserve antique books and this cannot be changed. Some rooms have ethernet ports available for live streaming equipment. Weekend hires require minimum spends of £3,000 plus VAT regardless of room size.
