Our Max Rayne Foyer is conveniently located on the ground floor next to the Max Rayne Auditorium, making it fully accessible to wheelchair users. This space can accommodate up to 80 delegates and is a great accompanying catering or exhibition space for conferences taking place in the adjacent auditorium. It is also located next to the ENT Room, offering a loarger combined space if booked together. The Max Rayne Foyer offers some natural day light as well as wall uplighters to enhance the optics of your event.

Max Rayne Auditorium costs £3,190 for daytime hire (theatre capacity 146) with complimentary access to the Atrium catering space. Evening reception hire for Max Rayne Atrium is £1,200 with a mandatory minimum catering spend of £2,500. Weekend bookings require a minimum spend of £3,000. All prices exclude VAT.

Most spaces require minimum chargeable numbers of 90 people for catering, though some smaller rooms like Heritage Centre require only 10 people minimum and Dame Deirdre Hine room requires 15 people minimum. The Day Delegate Package requires a minimum of 180 delegates.

The venue operates during standard business hours with evening availability until 10pm maximum. Service ends at 10pm to allow guests to wind down for departure. Evening events can run from 6:30pm-10pm, and the venue is closed on certain dates throughout the year.

Standard catering includes tea/coffee with biscuits at £4.30 per person, networking nibbles at £6.00 per person, and 6 canapés at £23.00 per person. House wine costs £25.50 per bottle, beers £5.00 per bottle, and soft drinks £2.00 per can. Working lunch packages range from £26.25-£49.95 per person.

No external food or drink is allowed into the venue. All catering must be provided by the in-house catering team, and this policy is strictly enforced across all event spaces.

Max Rayne Auditorium includes projector, 2 handheld microphones, 2 lapel microphones, and lectern in the hire cost. Additional equipment available includes PA system with 2 handheld mics (£250), AV technician support (£950), laptop hire (£150), and hybrid streaming packages (£1,000-£3,240 depending on duration).

All quotes are valid for 5 days only. The venue does not automatically hold space when providing quotes - you must specifically request a temporary hold if needed. Site visits can be arranged to check room suitability before booking.

Max Rayne Auditorium holds 146 theatre style, Wheatley Room accommodates 72 cabaret/80 theatre/38 boardroom, and Max Rayne Atrium can hold up to 400 standing for receptions. Heritage Centre is limited to 17 boardroom style and must be kept at exactly 20°C to preserve antique books.

Heritage Centre has a fixed temperature of 20°C that cannot be altered due to antique book preservation. Weekend hires require a minimum booking of £3,000. Some rooms have ethernet ports available for live streaming equipment, and the venue can accommodate hybrid events with streaming capabilities.

Access times vary by event type and room availability. For some events, auditorium access may be available from 5:30pm while catering spaces are only accessible from 6pm due to earlier events. Full-day access typically runs 8:00am-5:00pm, and setup requirements should be discussed when booking.
