Located within The Residence at Holmes Hotel London, The Billiards Room, is a unique, multi-purpose space, where our antique wooden meeting table unveils a hidden gem as this can be transformed into a fully fledged billiards table. This room can be booked out for meetings, boardroom meetings, conferences and workshops for up to 14 guests as well as breakout space to play pool or snooker, and includes a hidden TV screen, full AV capabilities, and access to our fully stocked Pantry.




Frequently asked questions

The Billiards Room accommodates up to 14 guests comfortably in boardroom layout, though 15 guests can be squeezed in but will feel tight. The boardroom and U-shape layouts can each accommodate 18 guests comfortably, with the possibility of adding 2 additional guests (up to 20 total) though this may feel cramped. For one large table setups, the maximum is 20 guests but space becomes very tight.

Private dining packages start at £100 plus VAT per person, including 1 glass of prosecco on arrival, 3-course dinner (£65 set menu), half bottle of mineral water, half bottle of house wine, room hire, and cloakroom. A discretionary service charge of 12.5% is added to the final bill. Higher-tier packages are available with premium wines and champagne options.

Minimum spend requirements vary by space and event type. For drinks receptions, minimum spends start at £2,250 plus VAT (reduced from £3,500) for smaller spaces like The Gallery. The venue operates on minimum spend basis rather than room hire fees, with all food and drinks counting toward the minimum.

A 50% deposit is required to secure the space for all events. Final event details must be provided 10 days before the event date. The venue holds spaces on 'Joint First Option' status until confirmation, meaning other clients may also be considering the same date and space.

Three reception packages are available: Bronze at £47 plus VAT per person (1 prosecco, 2 drinks, 3 canapés), Silver at £62 plus VAT per person (1 prosecco, 3 drinks, 6 canapés), and Gold at £82 plus VAT per person (1 champagne, 3 drinks, 3 canapés, 3 bowl foods). All packages include staff, room hire, cloakroom, plasma screen, and WiFi.

The venue does not host 18th birthday parties or events deemed unsuitable for the venue's character. Events with budgets considered too low for the venue's standards may be declined. The venue maintains discretion over which events align with their upmarket positioning.

Corkage charges are £30 per bottle for bringing your own wine or champagne. The venue can also operate a cash bar where guests pay for their own drinks based on consumption, which can help manage costs for larger events while still meeting minimum spend requirements.

The Residence area includes multiple spaces that can be booked together: Billiards Room, Pantry, Conservatory, Library, Laboratory, and Cellar room. When combined, The Residence can accommodate up to 80 people for standing receptions. The Gallery can be combined with other spaces and accommodates up to 60 guests standing or 37 in cabaret layout.

All spaces include complimentary use of plasma screens and WiFi. The Billiards Room features a hidden TV screen and full AV capabilities. The venue can accommodate live music and DJ setups, with in-house music team available to provide recommendations for entertainment options.

Most events run during standard business hours, with evening events typically ending by 22:00-23:00. The venue can accommodate extended hours until late night or early morning (midnight to 1am) depending on the event type and space booked. Setup and breakdown times should be factored into total booking duration.
