The fully accessible Godfrey Mitchell Theatre is located on the lower ground. This theatre is ideal for small conferences, presentations, lectures, seminars, product launches, press conferences and AGM's. We're fully equipped with state-of-the art presentation technology. At the front is a lectern and a top table for up to four people; each with fixed microphones. The space is very minimalist and modern in style with soft blue and white.

Our smallest theatre can be linked up to our Telford Theatre which allow a capacity of over 340 people.

Room hire varies by space and duration - for example, the Council Room costs £1,900 for a full day (07:00-17:30) or £950 for a half day (07:00-13:00). For half-day sessions, minimum catering of tea, coffee and biscuits at £4.10 per person per serving is required. Full day delegate packages start at £96 per person including room hire, all catering breaks, and basic AV equipment.

Capacities vary significantly by room and setup - the Council Room accommodates 50 theatre style or 40 cabaret style, while the Telford Theatre holds up to 238 theatre style. The Great Hall can accommodate 200 theatre style for larger events. Each room has specific maximum capacities that cannot be exceeded for safety reasons.

Basic AV varies by room - some include integral 86" LED screens, while others require additional equipment. LCD projectors cost £135, projection screens £25, and technicians up to 10 hours cost £500. The Telford Theatre includes comprehensive AV with technician, PA system, multiple microphones, and recording facilities as part of the hire.

Standard hire periods typically run 07:00-17:30 for full days or 07:00-13:00 for half days. Late extensions beyond 11pm incur additional charges: 11pm-midnight costs £500-£550, 11pm-1am costs £1,200-£1,300, and 11pm-2am costs £1,900, depending on the specific room.

The venue offers provisional holds on available dates, with some rooms available on a waitlist basis when held by other clients. Show-round appointments are available Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:00pm, though the building is currently under refurbishment so site visits are limited. Contact the sales team to arrange viewings and provisional holds.

Catering ranges from basic refreshments to full meals - tea/coffee with biscuits costs £4.10 per person per serving, sandwich lunches with sides cost £25 per person, and 2-course buffet lunches start from £39 per person. Day delegate packages at £96 per person include all refreshment breaks and lunch. All catering excludes VAT.

The venue prohibits naked flames and smoke for safety reasons. They work with a range of entertainment suppliers and can provide recommendations. External suppliers and entertainment arrangements can be discussed with the events team, who can advise on suitable options for your specific requirements.

Multiple breakout rooms are available including the Presidents Dining Room (18 boardroom style), Palmer Room (20-30 cabaret style), Tredgold Room, and Stephenson Room. Breakout room hire costs vary - for example, PDR costs £1,250 for a full day or £625 for a half day. Rooms can accommodate different capacities from 15-30 people depending on setup.

Most catering is based on minimum numbers - sandwich lunches require minimum 10 people, while dinner packages are based on minimum 30 delegates. Some rooms and packages have specific minimum requirements, and all rates exclude VAT. The venue can accommodate events from small meetings to large conferences of 200+ people.

The venue is fully accessible with wheelchair spaces provided in theatres like the Telford Theatre, which has space for three wheelchairs. Hearing loops are available in presentation spaces, and the venue meets accessibility standards throughout. The building is currently under refurbishment, which may affect some access during site visits.
