The Downs View Suite is on the second floor of the Duchess’s Stand. It has a unique curved wall and balcony which provides dramatic views across the Downs and the Racecourse.
It is an ideal space for an Office Party, Christmas Party or Dinner. The suite is brilliantly suited for Cabaret, Theatre and Banquet layouts to suit any event. We are more than able to cater for Corporate, Private and Charity Events.

What is the minimum number of guests required for bookings?
All meeting spaces and banqueting bookings require a minimum of 30 people for meetings and 50 people for banqueting events. Groups smaller than these minimums cannot be accommodated at the venue.
What are the Day Delegate Rate packages and pricing?
Day Delegate Rate packages start from £53 per person plus VAT. The Classic DDR Package includes main suite hire, arrival tea and coffee with mini Danish pastries and fresh fruit, mid-morning refreshments, finger buffet lunch, mid-afternoon tea and coffee, projector and screen, flipchart and pens, complimentary Wi-Fi and car parking, plus a dedicated event manager.
Can I bring my own caterer or use external catering?
The venue does not operate on a pure dry hire basis and normally does not allow external catering to be brought on site. However, they work with contracted preferred caterers who can provide catering services, and you must use one of these approved partners to use the venue.
What are the capacity limits for different event layouts?
The Diomed suite can accommodate up to 500 people in theatre style layout for presentations. The venue has various spaces with different capacities, but specific room capacities depend on the chosen layout and space configuration.
What spaces are available for large events requiring exhibition areas?
For events requiring exhibition space, the venue can provide the Oaks Hall which can accommodate approximately 50 exhibition stalls based on size requirements. However, events requiring 700+ guests with 500 seated cannot be accommodated due to kitchen facility limitations.
What AV equipment and technical facilities are included?
Standard packages include projector and screen, built-in PA system, flipchart and pens, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Additional AV equipment is available for hire including lectern and microphone (£90 excluding VAT), standalone microphone (£70 excluding VAT), and medium stage (£350 excluding VAT).
What are the room hire fees for additional spaces?
Room hire fees vary by space: Mezzanine area costs £1,000 excluding VAT, venue hire for catering spaces is £2,000 excluding VAT, and hire of all breakout spaces is £2,000 excluding VAT. Some spaces offer discounted rates when booked as part of larger packages.
What dining and entertainment packages are available?
All-inclusive dining packages start from £67 per person including VAT, featuring exclusive party suite, non-alcoholic arrival drink, three-course menu, staffing and security, and complimentary car parking. Additional options include DJ and dance floor for £400 excluding VAT, and wine packages at £18.75 per person for half bottles.
