In November 2007, AMG aquired the former Roxy nightclub in Sheffield. A large, purpose built entertainment venue, the Roxy had various incarnations from the Top Rank Suite in the 1970s and 1980s, famed for its iconic gigs. Consistently reported for demolition since the 1990s and left empty for many years the O2 Academy Sheffield re opened in April 2008 after a £3.5m development includes a large auditorium with a capacity of 2,350 and a secondary smaller room. all with state of the art PA, lighting and A/V to create one of its most dynamic and advanced versatile venues to date.
