The room is located on the 4th floor with 360-degree views and includes a private balcony, bar, and bathrooms.
What are the mandatory catering requirements and minimum spends?
A minimum of 80 guests for catering is required for the Compass Room, and you must book at least a buffet for evening events. Hot fork buffets start from £16.75 per person for adults and £12.00 for children, while 3-course meals start from £34.00 for adults and £15.00 for children. The venue's chicken is certified halal.
Can I bring my own caterer or use external catering?
External catering is only permitted for religious purposes. If this applies, there's a separate dry hire package available for £4,500, which includes dry hire of the Compass Room and kitchen plus furniture for the space.
What is the booking process and when do I need to pay the deposit?
The booking process requires signing a contract on pages 3 and 12, then returning it to confirm the booking. Once the signed contract is received, a deposit invoice for room hire only will be sent. The venue operates on a first-come, first-served basis when multiple clients are interested in the same date.
What drinks and catering options are available for receptions and events?
Prosecco is £36.00 per bottle, wine from £24.00 per bottle, bottled beer £6.00 per bottle, and elderflower presse/juices £4.50 per litre. Canapés are £14.00 per person, and tea and coffee service is £2.25 per person. All prices are before VAT.
Are there any restrictions on Christmas parties or venue-only hire?
Christmas parties are only available as part of a package that includes catering - venue hire only is not offered for Christmas events. The maximum capacity for Christmas parties is 240 guests, and specific dates may have limited availability.
What happens if another client is interested in my preferred date?
The venue operates a 'joint first option' system where if another client enquires about the same date you're holding, both clients are informed and it becomes first-come, first-served. You'll need to confirm your booking quickly by returning the signed contract to secure the date.
What contact information do I need to provide for the booking contract?
You must provide contact name, company name, full company address, telephone number, and email address. The venue requires these details before sending the booking contract and will use this information for all future correspondence about your event.
Can I communicate through the Hirespace platform during the planning process?
No, once you've booked the venue, you should communicate directly via email rather than through the Hirespace platform. The platform blocks additional email addresses, so any colleagues or team members you want to include in planning discussions need to be added to direct email correspondence.
What are the smaller room options and their costs for breakout spaces or meetings?
The North Room costs £195+VAT (reduced from £295+VAT) and South Room costs £395+VAT, both accommodating up to 14 people in boardroom layout. The Hexagon Room is £850+VAT. These rooms have no natural daylight but include built-in screens, projectors, and/or plasma displays.
