What are the exact room hire costs for the Compass Room and what's included?

The Compass Room costs £1,400 for evening hire (18:00-00:30) or day hire (12:00-18:00). Full day hire (08:00-21:00) costs £3,200 plus VAT. The hire includes the circular space with floor-to-ceiling windows, automatic blackout blinds, private balcony, private bar area, and private bathrooms.

What are the capacity limits and minimum booking requirements for the Compass Room?

The Compass Room has a minimum booking requirement of 80 people and maximum capacity of 180 for dinner. If you require space for dancing, capacity reduces to 160 people. For evening events, a minimum buffet is required.

What catering options are available and what are the costs?

Hot fork buffet starts from £16.75 per person (£12.00 for children), 3-course meals from £34.00 per person (£15.00 for children). Canapés cost £14.00 per person, tea and coffee £2.25 per person. Prosecco is £36.00 per bottle, wine from £24.00 per bottle, and bottled beer £6.00 per bottle.

Can I bring my own caterer or use external catering?

External catering is only allowed for religious purposes. If this applies, there's a separate dry hire package available for £4,500, which includes dry hire of the Compass Room and kitchen with furniture provided.

What is the booking process and when is the deposit due?

After agreeing to proceed, a booking contract is sent requiring signatures on pages 3 and 12. Once the signed contract is returned, a deposit invoice for room hire only is issued. The booking is not confirmed until the signed contract is received.

How does the provisional hold system work?

Dates can be put on hold, but if another client is also interested, it becomes a 'joint first option' on a first-come-first-serve basis. The venue will inform other holding clients when someone else enquires for the same date.

What AV equipment and technical facilities are included?

The Compass Room comes equipped with automatic blackout blinds to assist with presentations. For additional AV requirements like projectors, screens, or PA systems, these would need to be arranged separately as part of your event planning.

Are there any restrictions on event timing or setup requirements?

Evening hire runs from 18:00-00:30, day hire from 12:00-18:00, and full day hire from 08:00-21:00. The venue requires moving away from the Hirespace platform for detailed planning once booked, and all coordination should be done via direct email with the venue team.
