Frequently asked questions

The Compass Room costs £1,400 for evening hire (18:00-00:30) or day hire (12:00-18:00). The Pier Eight Room costs £995 plus VAT for full day hire (08:00-18:00). The Hexagon Room costs £850 plus VAT for full day hire. Smaller meeting rooms include the North Room at £195 plus VAT and South Room at £395 plus VAT.

The Compass Room has a minimum booking of 80 people and maximum capacity of 180 for dinner (160 if dancing space is required). The Pier Eight Room accommodates up to 120 in theatre style or 64 in cabaret (80 on full rounds). The North and South Rooms each hold up to 14 people in boardroom layout.

Hot fork buffet starts from £16.75 per person plus VAT, with children's portions at £12.00. Three-course meals start from £30.00-£34.00 per person (£15.00 for children). Canapés cost £14.00 per person. Tea and coffee costs £2.25 per person, with pastries adding £3.00 more (£5.25 total). A minimum buffet is required for evening events in the Compass Room.

After receiving a quote, you'll be sent a booking contract that requires signatures on pages 3 and 12. Once the signed contract is returned, a deposit invoice for room hire only will be sent. The booking is not confirmed until the signed contract is received and deposit is paid.

External catering is only allowed for religious purposes. If this applies, a separate dry hire package is available for £4,500 for the Compass Room and kitchen, which includes furniture for the space. Otherwise, you must use Lowry's in-house catering services.

Lowry operates a hold system where dates can be placed on 'joint first option' if another client is already holding the same date. This means it becomes first-come-first-served basis, and the other client will be notified that someone else has enquired for their date.

The Pier Eight Room includes LCD projector, PA system, and WiFi as standard. The North and South meeting rooms have built-in screens and projectors or plasma displays. Basic AV is included in day delegate packages, but specific technical requirements may incur additional costs.

Prosecco costs £36.00 per bottle, wine from £24.00 per bottle, bottled beer £6.00 per bottle, and elderflower presse/juices £4.50 per litre. The Compass Room has its own private bar facility. Christmas party packages include minimum bar spend requirements of £1,500.
