Frequently asked questions

Fine Room 2 can accommodate up to 80 guests for a banquet-style seated dinner or up to 170 guests for a reception-style standing event when combined with Fine Room 1. For ceremonies alone, the capacity would be lower depending on the seating arrangement required.

Room hire for Fine Rooms 1 & 2 combined is £2,300 plus VAT for an 8-hour period (09:00-17:00). Evening hire rates are higher, with costs varying based on specific timing and requirements. All prices exclude VAT and waiting staff are not included in the base room hire fee.

Yes, external caterers are permitted but require a dry hire fee of £600 plus VAT on top of the room hire cost. This includes use of the ground floor kitchen, but Asia House will not provide any equipment, tables, chairs, linen, cutlery, glassware or waiting staff - these must be hired separately at additional cost.

Corkage charges are £12 plus VAT per bottle of wine, £15 plus VAT per bottle of champagne, and £1 plus VAT per beer bottle. These charges apply when using external caterers under the dry hire arrangement.

Yes, a late license can be acquired until midnight. There is an additional fee of £500 plus VAT per hour for extensions from 10pm onwards. This allows you to continue your celebration later into the evening.

Yes, the building is fully accessible with a lift to access bathrooms and a ramp that can be placed outside for wheelchair users. The ramp is set up before guest arrival and again when guests leave, and wheelchair users cannot use a stairlift.

Asia House offers internal catering with hot or cold fork buffets (minimum 15 guests) and 3-course festive meals. Drinks are charged on consumption with no minimum spend requirement. Sandwich lunches are available with a minimum order of 10 guests.

Available AV includes plasma TVs (£150 plus VAT), PA systems (£300 plus VAT), conference projectors (£250 plus VAT), and microphones (£85 plus VAT each). An AV technician is recommended if more than 3 microphones are required, charged at £85 plus VAT per hour with a 4-hour minimum.

Asia House cannot accommodate weddings with 240+ guests and has declined several large wedding enquiries. The maximum realistic capacity is 170 guests reception-style or 80 guests for seated dining when using Fine Rooms 1 & 2 combined.

Standard hire periods run from 09:00-17:00, though evening events can extend to 22:00 or later with additional charges. Events typically require advance setup time, and the venue offers virtual tours for viewing the space before booking.
