The Lookout can accommodate up to 150 guests for a conference followed by a canape reception. Venue hire costs £8,000 plus VAT, with an additional mandatory security and cleaning fee of £1,500 plus VAT. The minimum spend on food and beverage is £6,000 plus VAT, which is separate from and in addition to the venue hire.
What are the setup and event timing restrictions for The Lookout?
Due to the space being open to the public during the day, setup access is only available from 5:30pm with a minimum event start time of 6:30pm. The venue removes portioning walls in the evening to extend the space for events, and some meeting rooms are used for back-of-house operations and cloakroom facilities.
What catering packages are available and what do they include?
Several packages are available including the Canapes Gold Package at £102.85 plus VAT per person (4 canapes, 2 bowls, prosecco on arrival, half bottle of wine, 1 beer, 1 soft drink) and the Post Conference Reception at £69.00 plus VAT per person (4 canapes, prosecco, house wine, 1 beer, 1 soft drink). Unlimited drinks upgrades are available for an additional £40 plus VAT per person.
How far in advance can dates be secured and what are the booking options?
Dates cannot be offered on 1st option until 8 weeks out from the event date. Before this period, dates are available on 2nd option only. Some events may require City of London approval for closure of The Lookout, which adds an additional step to the booking process.
What AV equipment and technical support is included with the venue?
The venue is equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment including sound systems, multiple microphones (1 handheld, 2 lapels, 1 lectern, 2 gooseneck), and a large LED presentation screen. Professional technical support is available to assist throughout events, and stages are included for certain bookings.
Are there alternative spaces available for smaller events or different budgets?
Yes, Executive Suites are available for smaller events, though they have limited space for large LED screens or wine bars. For events up to 99 guests, Sky Garden packages are available from approximately £45 per person. The venue also offers combined Executive Suites for events requiring multiple rooms.
What additional fees and service charges should be budgeted for?
Beyond the venue hire and minimum spend, expect a mandatory security and cleaning fee of £1,500 plus VAT. A 13.5% discretionary service charge is added post-event to all catering. All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
