Frequently asked questions

The bar area requires a minimum spend of £2,000 including VAT (excluding 15% service charge) for evening events with up to 50 guests. For larger groups requiring £4,000-£5,000 including VAT (excluding 14-15% service charge), you get access to a roped-off semi-private area within the bar. The full minimum spend must be paid within 24 hours as a deposit.

The bar area accommodates up to 40 people for seated and standing mixture, or up to 50 guests (45 comfortably, 50 squeezed) for standing receptions. For groups of 30+ guests, you receive a roped-off semi-private area rather than full exclusivity. The space operates as a mixture of seated and standing arrangements.

Bar bookings are available for up to 3 hours from your start time, with the option to extend later if needed. Events typically start from 20:00 or 23:00 depending on availability. A 7-day cancellation policy applies to all bar bookings.

All group bookings in the bar area require pre-ordering of arrival drinks and canapés to ensure prompt service on the day. This is mandatory and must be arranged in advance - you cannot simply order on arrival.

A 14-15% service charge applies to all bar bookings (excluding VAT). The minimum spend figures quoted include VAT but exclude this service charge, so budget an additional 14-15% on top of your minimum spend requirement.

Bar area bookings can be made up to 2 months in advance through their online system. Dates are only held upon specific request - they do not automatically hold dates without confirmation from the client.

The bar area offers canapé menus and full beverage service from their extensive drinks menu. Seated dining menus are not available in the bar area - this space is designed for standing receptions and canapé-style service only.

For any evening events in July, Duck & Waffle requires a minimum spend of £20,000 excluding VAT and service charge at the lowest. This represents peak season pricing and is significantly higher than standard rates.

The full minimum spend amount is required within 24 hours as a deposit to secure your booking. This means if your minimum spend is £4,000, you must pay the entire £4,000 upfront, not just a percentage deposit.
