Frequently asked questions
What are the pricing structures for different spaces at The Hari?
The Hari offers multiple spaces with varying costs. The Snug (semi-private bar area) has no room hire fee but requires £1,200-£1,500 minimum spend. The Garden Terrace costs £700-£1,000 room hire plus £1,500-£2,000 minimum spend. The Hari Bar exclusive hire is £3,000 plus £7,000-£10,000 minimum spend. All prices include VAT and are subject to 13.5% service charge.
What are the capacity limits for each event space?
The Snug accommodates up to 50 guests for standing reception. The Garden Terrace holds up to 15 guests for seated dining or 25 for standing reception. The Hari Bar can accommodate up to 100 guests for standing reception when hired exclusively. The Muse private dining room seats up to 23 guests in boardroom setup.
What are the standard event timings and any restrictions?
Most events run from 6pm-11pm or 7pm-midnight, with some daytime options from 2pm-6pm. DJ music must stop at 10:30pm for evening events. The venue offers flexibility on timing but standard packages are structured around these core hours.
Can I bring my own DJ or entertainment?
You can bring your own DJ or band only when privatizing the entire Bar.
What's included in room hire versus minimum spend requirements?
Room hire covers the space only. Minimum spend is in addition to room hire and covers all food and beverages consumed. For example, The Garden Terrace costs between £600 and £800 room hire plus £1,500-£2,000 minimum spend, and an additional 13.5% service charge. The Snug has complimentary room hire but still requires £1,500 minimum spend.
How are service charges calculated and when are they applied?
Service charges amount is 13,5% and is applied on your final bill.
What food and beverage restrictions apply?
You can only bring your own cake (£100 fee applies). All other food must come through The Hari's kitchen with pre-orders required. Cocktails must be pre-ordered, and bottled beverages are charged on consumption. The venue will notify you when minimum spend is reached during the event.
How does the booking hold and confirmation process work?
The venue places holds on dates but releases them if no response is received by specified deadlines (often by 12pm on the day for same-day events). You need to confirm your booking within the hold period or the space will be released to other clients.
Are there alternative dining options if private spaces exceed budget?
Yes, il Pampero restaurant offers semi-private dining with lower minimum spends (£1,000-£1,100) but it's a table within the restaurant, not fully private. This provides a middle-ground option between private hire and standard restaurant booking.
What AV equipment and technical facilities are available?
The venue provides complimentary hand-held microphones and HD TV screens. The Muse meeting room includes AV equipment in its day hire rate. Specific technical requirements should be discussed during booking as capabilities may vary by space.
