The 1 Bar

The minimum spend varies by event size and type, ranging from £3,000 to £25,000 (including VAT and service charge). For smaller corporate events of 60 people, the minimum is £3,000, while larger events of 150-200 people require £15,000-£25,000. The minimum spend covers food and beverages from The 1 Bar's menu.

The venue provides a projector, screen, full AV system, and 4 handheld microphones. There is also a small raised stage area for speakers or presenters to be seen by the group. WiFi is available throughout the venue.

The venue can accommodate up to 200 people for standing receptions and corporate events. The open-plan layout allows for flexible arrangements and can be configured for smaller groups while maintaining the communal space feel.

The venue offers pizzas at £10.70 each (excluding service charge), with various flavours available. For larger events, they provide canapés, bowl food, and full drinks packages. Welcome drinks can be arranged, with prosecco requiring 20 bottles for 100 guests at £630 total. Food contributes towards the minimum spend requirement.

The venue provides in-house DJs, a magic mirror photo booth, and two to three live professional singers at no additional cost. External DJs and musicians can be brought in with prior approval and appropriate insurance documentation.

Public liability insurance is mandatory for all events. If bringing external DJs or musicians, they must provide their own equipment insurance, though The 1 Bar can verify these documents. The venue does not require equipment cover for their own DJ equipment.

Decorations are permitted but must be removed at the end of the event. Any damage to walls or paint will be charged to the client. Command strips are acceptable for wall attachments. Fixed furniture like drawers cannot be moved, but decorating around them is allowed. No invasive decorations that could damage property are permitted.

The 1 Bar is a 21+ venue, so all corporate events must comply with this age restriction. The venue is located at 18-20 Appold Street, London, EC2A 2AS, just 2-3 minutes walk from Liverpool Street Station and 5-6 minutes from Moorgate Station.

A deposit is required to secure the booking, with the example showing a £1,000 deposit being used towards welcome drinks and food pre-orders. Food orders do not require pre-payment as they contribute towards the minimum spend and are added to the final tab.

External catering is permitted but incurs additional fees on top of the minimum spend requirement. Clients can bring their own items like popcorn and sweets for table displays. The venue can also stock specific drinks for events if requested in advance, such as Tequila Rose.
