Poplar Works is an innovative workspace designed for individuals in the fashion industry, including designers, makers, and both experienced business owners and start-ups. The venue features over 40 individual studios, a training space, and a garment production unit, all situated across two sites on the Teviot and Aberfeldy estates in Poplar. It aims to equip local community members with the skills and opportunities necessary to build careers in the creative industries by providing low-cost workspace on an all-inclusive basis, training over 40 individuals annually in fashion production, and offering various business support programs. The venue is a collaboration between Poplar HARCA, London College of Fashion, UAL, and The Trampery, and is supported by the Mayor of London as part of the Fashion District. Poplar Works is conveniently located within a 15-minute walk from Bromley-by-Bow underground station and a 10-minute walk from Langdon Park DLR Station, making it accessible for those commuting to the area.
