Frequently asked questions

The Lookout can accommodate up to 150 guests for a conference followed by a canape reception. For events requiring more than 150 guests, the venue cannot accommodate the booking and will offer referrals to other Rhubarb venues.

Venue hire for The Lookout is £8,000 plus VAT, with a mandatory security and cleaning fee of £1,500 plus VAT. There is also a minimum food and beverage spend of £6,000 plus VAT, which is in addition to the venue hire costs.

Due to the space being open to the public, setup access is only available from 5:30pm with a minimum event start time of 6:30pm based on the level of production required. Events typically run until late evening or just before midnight.

The hire includes The Lookout main space plus meeting rooms, as some portioning walls are removed to extend the space for evening events. Some of the meeting rooms are also used for back-of-house operations and cloakroom facilities.

The Canapes and Bowls Gold Package costs £102.85 plus VAT per person and includes 4 canapes, 2 bowls, prosecco on arrival, glass of house wine, single house spirit and mixer, 1 beer, and 1 soft drink. Unlimited drinks upgrade is available for an additional £40 plus VAT per person.

Dates can be held on 2nd option initially, but the venue cannot offer space on 1st option until 8 weeks out from the event date. For private events requiring closure of the public space, City of London approval is required.

The venue includes state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment with sound systems, multiple microphones (handheld, lapel, lectern, and gooseneck), and a large LED presentation screen. Professional technical support is available to assist throughout events.

The minimum total cost is approximately £15,500 plus VAT (£8,000 venue hire + £1,500 security/cleaning + £6,000 F&B minimum). The venue cannot accommodate events with budgets significantly below this threshold and will decline bookings that don't meet minimum requirements.

If The Lookout is already booked on your preferred date, the venue will check alternative dates and may offer them on 1st option if available. If no suitable alternatives exist, they will offer referrals to other venues within the Rhubarb Hospitality Collection.

The venue can accommodate DJs, bands, and various entertainment options. A stage is included in the hire, and the space can be configured for dancing and performances. Additional screens can be provided for rolling content or presentations.
