Frequently asked questions

The Conference & Events package costs £445 per hour, which includes the Upper Room (200 theatre capacity), standard AV equipment with 1 technician, and 2 staff members to facilitate your event. All bookings must include setup and pack down time - minimum 30 minutes setup and 15-30 minutes pack down, with standard being 60 minutes setup and 30 minutes pack down.

There is a mandatory £150 post-event cleaning charge that applies to all bookings. A refundable security surcharge is also required, though the exact amount varies by booking. Unlimited tea and coffee service is available for £2 per person if desired.

King's House is only available for hire Thursday through Saturday. The venue is not available for bookings on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

The standard package includes a dedicated technician for your event, two 65-inch wall-mounted TVs, a 150-inch projector screen, full PA system, microphones, live streaming capabilities, recording equipment, and background music setup. The venue is fully equipped for HD live streaming and hybrid events.

The Upper Room has a maximum capacity of 200 people in theatre-style seating. The space can be configured for various layouts including cabaret, theatre, boardroom, and other arrangements depending on your event needs.

Payment is typically due by a standard deadline, but James offers flexibility with payment plans - you can either pay the full amount immediately or split it with a deposit (around £453) followed by the remaining balance plus security surcharge within two weeks. For example, a 6-hour booking totaling £2,484 could be split into £453 initially and £1,812 plus security surcharge by the final deadline.

King's House is a completely nut-free venue, so all catering must comply with this restriction. The venue operates on a dry-hire basis but has recommended caterers available including Funthyme, Bart's Table, Arch, and Fat Macy's. You can arrange your own catering or use their recommended suppliers, and kitchen access is included in bookings.

You must complete a detailed schedule and hire handbook by midday the day before your event, including specific AV requirements and technician needs. Any presentation slides, logos, or other digital files must be sent via WeTransfer to kings.house.b3hv7r.c.e@reply.hirespace.com by the specified deadline, typically midday the day before your event.

Yes, the venue can receive deliveries for your event. Items can be sent to arrive the day before your event, and the venue staff will accept and store them until your event day.

All quoted hours must include setup and pack down time within the booking period. The minimum is 30 minutes for setup and 15 minutes for pack down, though 60 minutes setup and 30 minutes pack down is standard. If you exceed your booked time, overtime charges will be deducted from your security surcharge, so plan accordingly for stacking chairs, folding tables, and clearing rubbish.

King's House is a beautiful former billiard hall in the heart of King's Cross. Our newly-refurbished first-floor events space contains a 200-seat flexible auditorium, with kitchen, full PA/AV, and is fully equipped for HD live streaming and hybrid events.

The ground floor of the building provides a cafe space and a home for community activities and charities aid people in the local area. Each booking made with King's House directly supports these organisations.

Please note: we are a NUT-FREE venue. Thank you for your co-operation!
