What are the minimum spend requirements for private hire of The Prince's business spaces?

The Loft (third floor) requires a £2,500+VAT minimum spend on Saturdays, £1,000+VAT on Fridays, and £500+VAT on Sundays. The Games Room (second floor) has a £2,500+VAT minimum spend. The garden area requires £7,500+VAT minimum spend with 7.5% service charge for exclusive hire. All minimum spends must be met through bar sales only - food purchases and drinks bought elsewhere in the venue do not count toward the minimum.

What are the capacity limits for each private business space?

The Loft accommodates up to 60-80 guests (capacity varies by source), The Games Room holds up to 60 people for mixed seated and standing arrangements, and the garden area can host up to 40 guests for group bookings or up to 450 for exclusive hire. Theatre-style seating in the garden can accommodate 250 guests for presentations or conferences.

What are the age restrictions and dress code requirements?

On Fridays after 6pm and Saturdays after 3pm, The Prince operates a strict 21+ policy with Challenge 25 ID checks. Saturdays require smart, chic and elegant dress code. Last entry is at 10pm on these days, and guests must arrive within 20 minutes of their booking time or risk losing their reservation.

What are the venue's operating hours and closing times?

The venue closes at 11pm with the bar closing at 10:30pm. Private spaces like The Loft are available exclusively from 5pm until close. A late license until 1am is available for £500+VAT additional fee.

How does the deposit and payment system work for private hire?

The full minimum spend must be pre-paid to secure any private space. This deposit is refunded post-event if the minimum spend is reached through bar sales on the night. If the minimum isn't met, the difference is deducted from your deposit and the remainder refunded. A discretionary 12.5% service charge is added to the final bill.

What are the cancellation terms and booking flexibility?

Cancellation policies vary: over 30-60 days before booking receives full deposit refund, within 30-60 days receives 50% refund, and within 3-14 days forfeits the entire deposit. You can move your booking to another date within the same calendar year free of charge with 2 weeks' notice.

What entertainment and DJ options are available?

You can bring your own DJ for £250+VAT additional cost, or the venue can arrange a DJ for £500+VAT. The Loft has its own sound system for playing music like Spotify playlists. The venue does not offer bottle service menus, though bottles may occasionally be purchased at the venue's discretion.

What food and catering arrangements are offered?

Guests can order food from rotating street food traders delivered to tables, though traders change periodically so specific options should be confirmed. The venue offers bespoke drinks packages and main/side vouchers for street food vendors at £15 per person. Food sales do not contribute toward minimum spend requirements.

Are there restrictions on event types and Saturday bookings?

The Prince does not offer private hire on Saturdays and does not host promoted events. The maximum group size on Saturdays is 40 guests. Saturday walk-ins pay an £8 per person entry fee from 7pm (including bank holiday Sundays).

What facilities and features are included in each private space?

The Loft includes a private bar, pool table, darts room, and dedicated floor and bar staff. The Games Room has its own private bar and flexible furniture arrangements. Both spaces allow you to play your own music, and The Loft is described as newly refurbished with the Games Room located on the second floor.
