What are the minimum spend requirements for exclusive hire of the Events space?

Minimum spend varies by day: Monday-Wednesday £5,000 +VAT, Thursday £10,000 +VAT, Friday-Saturday £10,000 +VAT with 12.5% service charge, and Sunday £7,500 +VAT. All prices include 7.5% service charge except Saturday evenings which have 12.5% service charge. Food costs are additional to these minimums.

What capacity does the Events space accommodate and what's included with exclusive hire?

The Events space accommodates up to 150 guests with exclusive hire including dedicated bar, floor staff, bar staff, cloakroom service, and security. The space features original brickwork archways and a flexible terrace design that adapts to seasons.

What are the restrictions on private hire availability?

The venue does not offer private hire on Friday nights, Saturdays, or Sundays that fall within bank holidays. Regular Sundays are available for private hire with the £7,500 +VAT minimum spend.

What sound and AV equipment is available for events?

The venue provides onsite DJ equipment connected to surround sound system, projector screen, microphones, and PA system. Bands can use the same sound system with TENs license approval required for live music ending by 8pm, followed by DJ until event end.

How does food service work and what are the options?

The venue has no onsite kitchen but partners with local food vendors from Brixton Village Market including Mamma Dough, Jalisco, and The Laundry. Food is ordered via app, collected by staff, and delivered to your area. Pre-orders can be arranged for larger events.

What is the payment structure and refund policy for bar spend?

Payment is typically split into two invoices with the first due upon booking confirmation. The minimum bar spend is refundable post-event if reached by guest purchases, tracked through a dedicated till system. Refunds are processed within 7 days of the event by the accounts team.

What are the setup and access arrangements for events?

Event setup access is available from 4pm at the latest for evening events. The venue has specific entrances for band equipment loading/unloading, though off-street parking is limited and typically requires drop-off arrangements.

What requirements must be met for promoted events and external vendors?

Promoted events require references from previous venues, company brochures, evidence of previous minimum bar spends achieved, and venue approval. External vendors like catering companies need prior approval and may be subject to additional restrictions.

Are there any licensing restrictions for entertainment?

Live music requires TENs license application with band performances ending by 8pm maximum. DJ entertainment can continue until the end of the event using the venue's onsite equipment and surround sound system.

What semi-private options are available for smaller groups?

The Arch semi-private space accommodates up to 70 guests with its own private bar and dedicated staff. Minimum spend is £2,500 +VAT with 7.5% service charge for most dates, increasing to £5,000 +VAT with 12.5% service charge for Saturday evenings.
