What are the capacity limits and minimum spend requirements for the Events space?

The Events space (Lounge Bar on the first floor) accommodates up to 100 guests seated for lunch and dinner or 150 guests standing for drinks and finger food. There is no room hire fee, but you must spend a minimum of £2,500 on food and beverage plus 12.5% service charge on top.

How much deposit is required and when is it due?

A deposit of £250 is required to confirm your booking. This deposit will be redeemed against your final bill or refunded back to your card if the event is cancelled with proper notice.

What AV equipment and entertainment features are included in the Events space?

The space includes 4 HD TVs with Bluetooth connectivity for shared screening, access points for DJs, a disco ball and DJ lights, and a dedicated dance floor area. You can play your own music and bring your own DJ for events.

Can the Events space be divided for different activities during one event?

Yes, the Events space features bi-folding doors that allow the room to be sectioned off into two separate spaces. This makes it ideal for events requiring different areas, such as one space for networking and another for presentations or dining.

What catering restrictions apply and can I bring external food or caterers?

All food and drink must be purchased at the venue - external catering is not permitted. You will have no access to a kitchen, so all catering must be arranged through The Railway's in-house services.

What facilities are included with the Events space booking?

The Events space includes a private bar, private toilets on the same floor, and access to the private Roof Garden. There is also a cloakroom available for use at an additional charge.

Is the venue accessible and are there any physical limitations?

The venue does not currently have a lift facility, so the first-floor Events space is only accessible via stairs. This may impact accessibility for guests with mobility requirements.

What days of the week is the Events space available for exclusive hire?

The Events space is available for exclusive hire from Monday through Sunday. Wedding bookings specifically mention availability for both first floor and second floor exclusive hire throughout the week.

How long are enquiries held and what is the booking process?

Enquiries are typically held open for 24 hours before being released if no response is received. The booking process involves initial enquiry through their platform (Designmynight), followed by deposit payment to secure the date.

Are there smaller private spaces available if the main Events space is too large?

Yes, The Railway also offers The Snug (ground floor, up to 30 seated/50 standing, £500 minimum spend, £100 deposit) and The Cocktail Bar (second floor, up to 15 seated/40 standing, £1,000 minimum spend, £250 deposit) for smaller events.
