What are the minimum spend requirements for private hire of the different spaces?

Minimum spend requirements vary by space and date: The Onyx Room starts from £6,000, Rooftop Bar from £9,000-£18,000, and Penelope's Restaurant from £10,000-£16,000. All minimum spends are plus 12.5% service charge and include 20% VAT. These fees are only valid for 5 working days and subject to availability changes.

What are the maximum capacities for each available space?

The Onyx Room accommodates 150 for standing reception or 40 for seated dinner, Rooftop Bar holds 120-150 for standing reception only, and Penelope's Restaurant seats 130 for dinner or 180 for standing reception. Penelope's Private Meeting Room has a maximum of 16 guests in boardroom style only.

What are the standard event timings and licensing restrictions?

Events typically run from 5pm-12am with last bar orders from 11:15-11:30pm, and spaces must be cleared by 12am due to licensing. Organisers can access spaces earlier for setup, and some events can start as early as 4:30pm. Wedding events may run until 1am with last orders at 12:15-12:30am.

What AV equipment and technical facilities are included?

Most spaces include 55" screens, AV equipment, A/C, Wi-Fi, projectors, and microphones for speeches at no additional charge. The Onyx Room includes projector and 55" screen, while Penelope's Private Meeting Room includes flipchart and stationery items. DJs that the venue collaborates with charge £500 for 4-hour performances.

Can furniture be removed or rearranged for filming and photography?

Yes, loose furniture can be removed from spaces to accommodate different layouts. The venue is flexible with room configurations and can discuss potential layout options during site visits. Tours are available Monday-Friday 11am-5pm to view spaces and discuss setup requirements.

What are the booking and payment procedures?

Quotes are valid for only 5 working days and subject to availability. Dates are only held upon specific request, not automatically. For restaurant bookings over 25 guests, a 25% deposit is required based on guest count and chosen menu, with remaining balance due closer to the event date.

Are there any date restrictions or blackout periods?

The Rooftop Bar is not available on Wednesday 25th June, all Thursdays in June, and Thursday 3rd July 2025. Specific dates may become unavailable due to high demand, particularly during Summer 2025 season (May-September). The venue experiences constantly changing availability and cannot inform about changes unless a tour is booked.

What catering options and dietary requirements can be accommodated?

The venue offers Spanish and Middle Eastern fusion cuisine with sharing concept for groups. Set menus start at £55-£70 per person for groups of 25+, with prices inclusive of VAT but exclusive of 12.5% service charge. Menus can be modified to accommodate dietary requirements with advance notice.

What additional costs should be budgeted beyond the minimum spend?

All minimum spends require an additional 12.5% service charge. Entertainment and decoration are charged separately based on artist fees. External equipment hire (like poseur tables) incurs additional charges. A 10% commission applies to the final NET + VAT amount, excluding service charge, cancellations, entertainment, decoration, or external hire.
