Waldo Williams Suite at Friends House

Room hire rates vary by space and duration. Examples include: Waldo Williams 1 at £595 (VAT exempt) for 09:00-17:00 accommodating up to 16 boardroom style, Ada Salter Suite 1-2 at £850 for 09:00-17:00 accommodating up to 22 cabaret style, and Marjorie Sykes room at £975 for 08:30-17:00 accommodating up to 28 boardroom. All venue hire is VAT exempt and includes complimentary water on arrival, dedicated screen or projector, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and complimentary flip chart.

Capacity varies significantly by room and layout. The Light Auditorium accommodates up to 1,000 guests with theatre setup, Benjamin Lay Suite holds 70 cabaret or 154 theatre in the main room plus 80 theatre or 42 cabaret in the breakout space, while smaller rooms like Waldo Williams 1 accommodate up to 16 boardroom style and Ada Salter Suite handles up to 22 cabaret style.

Full day catering packages include: £47 inc VAT per person (welcome tea/coffee/pastries, mid-morning tea/coffee/biscuits, deli buffet lunch, afternoon tea/coffee/cake, still and sparkling water) or £52 inc VAT per person (same as above but with hot finger food buffet lunch instead of deli). A premium package at £39 net per person includes working lunch instead of buffet lunch.

External catering is not allowed at Friends House. However, they offer a wide variety of food and drink options through their in-house catering service. The venue does not serve alcohol but has a wide range of non-alcoholic options available.

Standard venue access is typically from 08:00-17:00 or 09:00-17:00 depending on the space. Some quotes show access from 08:30-17:00. The venue can accommodate events from 9am-5pm, and evening events may be possible but specific hours would need to be confirmed.

Final food orders need to be confirmed well in advance of your event date. For short notice bookings, final food orders may need to be submitted approximately one week before the event date to ensure availability.

All rooms include dedicated screen or projector and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Larger spaces like Benjamin Lay Suite include projector, lectern, roaming microphones, PA system, and hybrid options. The Light Auditorium has its own entrance and reception area with full AV capabilities for up to 1,000 guests.

Some spaces have minimum requirements. The Light Auditorium requires a minimum of 110 people and is only available on a full day basis. Budget thresholds exist - the venue indicated they cannot accommodate requests with budgets of £100-£200 for room hire, suggesting higher minimum spending requirements.

Charity rates are available for registered charities and can provide significant savings. For example, the Benjamin Lay Suite charity rate is £3,750 (08:00-17:00) VAT exempt, compared to higher standard commercial rates. Organizations must provide proof of charity status to qualify.

Friends House does not offer accommodation on-site. However, the venue is located right opposite Euston Station at 173-177 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ, making it highly accessible by public transport. The venue's central London location provides easy access to nearby hotels and transport links.
