What are the standard access times and can they be extended?
Standard access times are 8am to 5pm for day events. Evening events typically run from 5pm or 6pm to 11pm, with late licenses available until midnight for an additional £500 plus VAT.
Which room combinations are recommended for different event types?
The Council Chamber and Reception room are commonly recommended together for conferences and meetings. For workshops, the Laurie Landeau and Fellows room combination is suggested, with the Fellows room included in the Laurie Landeau hire.
What catering options are included in delegate packages?
The Classic Full Day Delegate Package includes arrival tea/coffee with mini pastries, mid-morning tea/coffee with biscuits, deli-style sandwich lunch with fruit or salad and crisps, and afternoon tea/coffee with fruit skewers. All packages include chilled water throughout the day.
What AV equipment and technical facilities are provided?
Standard packages include screen and projector, Wi-Fi, flipchart, PA system, handheld microphones, and directional signage. For events requiring additional AV or entertainment, DJ services start from £850 plus VAT.
What is the booking process and how long are provisional holds maintained?
The venue offers provisional holds on preferred dates while clients review proposals. Site visits can be arranged to view the spaces, and bespoke proposals are available for events that don't fit standard packages.
Are there additional costs for dancing or entertainment areas?
For events requiring a dance floor with DJ, you can hire the Wolfson Room and Exhibition Area for an extra £700 plus VAT. Background music through the PA system or silent disco options are available in the Reception Room.
What catering upgrade options are available and at what cost?
Upgrade options include healthy working lunch for £5.50 plus VAT per person, bowl food (5 bowls per person) for £11.50 plus VAT per person, and fork buffet lunch for £15.00 plus VAT per person. All upgrades have minimum number requirements.
