The Library is a graded part of the Royal College of Surgeons, dating back to 1800. This historical space on the first floor features the Library and Erasmus Wilson Room. The Lumley Library, as well as an evening event space is also a fully functioning library. By the close of the 19th century, it was widely recognised as one of the finest medical science library collections in Europe. Able to accommodate up to 90 guests for dinner and 150 guests in a standing reception, this enchanting space offers a beautiful backdrop for private dinners, evening receptions and weddings.



Frequently asked questions

The deposit is 80% of the total cost, with the remaining 20% due 6 weeks prior to the event when planning takes place. This payment structure applies to all bookings at The View.

The Conference Suite accommodates up to 300 guests in theatre style, 120 in cabaret, or 150 for private dining round tables (220 on sprigs). The Park View offers space for 300 guests in standing reception format and includes terrace access with London skyline views.

Room hire starts from £5,000+VAT for a 9am-5pm booking, with minimum catering spends typically ranging from £5,500-£7,000+VAT depending on the event. For evening events (6pm-10pm), room hire is £2,000+VAT with a £2,500+VAT minimum catering spend.

All bookings include basic AV equipment: projector and screen (accessible via Clickshare), repeat screens, up to four wireless microphones, lectern, and PA system. An in-house 6m x 3m stage is available for hire at additional cost.

Standard daytime hire runs from 9am-5pm, with evening events typically 6pm-10pm or 6pm-midnight. Event organizer access is usually provided 1 hour before the official start time for setup purposes.

Day Delegate Rates start from £89+VAT per person (minimum 100 guests) including exclusive hire, all-day catering, and AV. Private dining packages start at £100-£107+VAT per person with minimum numbers of 50-70 guests depending on the specific package and timing.

Nothing can be stuck on the walls in the event spaces - no blue tac, tape, or adhesive materials are permitted. Free-standing displays and decorations are allowed, and flipcharts can be provided for £25+VAT each.

The View includes two breakout rooms: The Linder Boardroom and The Newman Suite, both accommodating 50 guests in theatre style. These are perfect for private meetings or smaller sessions and are included with the main space hire.

The minimum ballpark figure typically starts from £10,000-£12,000+VAT for most events, though this can be flexible for certain bookings like Friday events or specific circumstances. This covers room hire, minimum catering spend, and basic services.

Bookings should be made well in advance, particularly for popular dates. The venue can place spaces on hold while clients make decisions, though specific hold periods and deadlines are arranged on a case-by-case basis during the booking process.
