Frequently asked questions

The venue offers two private dining packages: £99 per person for minimum 35 people (includes private room hire, arrival drink, 3-course set menu with tea/coffee, half bottle wine per person, half bottle water per person, dedicated event planner, VAT and service charge) or £105 per person with maximum 2-2-2 menu choices for the whole group. Additional drinks are charged on consumption basis.

The Canterbury Suite accommodates maximum 50 people in banqueting style, covers 65.33 sqm, is located on the 1st floor with natural daylight, AC/heating, disabled access, and WiFi. The Ballroom Suite holds up to 120 banqueting style (172 sqm) or 170 theatre style, while the Regency Suite accommodates up to 60 banqueting style (120 sqm).

Provisional bookings are typically held for 1 week on either 1st option or shared option basis. The venue requires booking decisions by specific deadlines (often by 5pm the following day for some enquiries) with automatic release if not confirmed. Final event details must be submitted by noon on the Friday before the event.

Cancellation charges are: 30% between 52-12 weeks prior, 50% between 12-8 weeks prior, 80% between 8-4 weeks prior, and 100% within 4 weeks of the event. These charges apply to all function-related costs.

Additional services include: printing at £0.75 per page for double-sided colour A4, name tag printing on place cards with hotel branding, drinks minimum spend options (£500-600 including VAT recommended), PA system with wireless microphones at £250 including VAT (Ballroom only), and lectern hire at £60 including VAT.

Events typically run 6pm-11pm for dinners or 18:30-23:30 for Christmas packages. Room hire rates vary: Canterbury Suite from £1,600 including VAT per day (reduced from £3,200), Regency Suite at £2,500 including VAT, and Ballroom Suite requiring additional hire supplements of £3,500 per day.

Beyond dinner packages, the venue offers unlimited tea/coffee at £15 per person per day, working lunch at £25 per person, various tea/coffee breaks from £5-7 per person per serving, and minimum spend options for drinks receptions. Christmas packages include festive menus, wine, and seasonal decorations.

Standard room hire includes LCD screen with projector, flipchart, WiFi, pads, pens, mineral water and sweets. The venue uses remote HDMI connections, wired internet is unavailable, and live streaming facilities must be self-arranged or hired from approved AV suppliers. PA systems with wireless microphones are available for additional cost.

The venue accepts delivery of external items like banners, tablecloths, and promotional materials with advance notice of delivery date, time, and contact person. Clients can bring their own AV suppliers at no extra cost but must provide PAT test forms, public liability forms, and RAMS forms.
