Frequently asked questions

Lincoln's Inn is closed for the entire month of August and during Easter from 17th April at 15:00, reopening on 28th April. These closure periods are fixed and no events can be accommodated during these times.

The Old Hall accommodates up to 120 guests for seated dinners and dates back to 1490. For events requiring 120+ guests, you must use the Old Hall/Crypt combination. The Great Hall can accommodate larger numbers, and there's a minimum requirement of 30 guests for meeting spaces.

Conference events typically run from 08:00-17:00 with all guests departed by 17:30. Some events can accommodate until 16:00 with departure by 16:30. Evening events generally have access from 16:00-17:30 for setup, with events ending by 22:30-23:00 and complete departure required.

Day Delegate Rates start from £91.00 + VAT per person (minimum 140 guests) or £104.00 + VAT for enhanced packages. Christmas packages are £176 + VAT per person (minimum 90 guests). Room hire for spaces like the Great Hall and lawn costs £7,350 + VAT for 5-hour periods, with dry hire options like the Old Hall at £6,600 + VAT.

Most events have mandatory minimum food and beverage spends. Examples include £13,950 + VAT for certain room combinations, £18,600 + VAT for Great Hall events, and £7,310 + VAT for Old Hall dinners. These are in addition to room hire costs.

All catering must be provided in-house - outside food is strictly prohibited and cannot be brought into the venue. The venue offers various catering packages including day delegate rates, Christmas packages, and bespoke menus, with seasonal menu updates typically confirmed later in the year.

Availability varies significantly by day of the week. For example, November typically has limited Thursday availability, with more options on Wednesdays and Fridays. Some periods show no availability for entire weeks, so flexibility with dates is important for securing your preferred space.

The venue is not suitable for sixth form proms and has declined certain event types. Some conference requests cannot be accommodated due to space limitations, and events requiring late-night access or specific technical requirements may not be feasible depending on the space and timing requested.

Security services are mandatory for certain events at £480 + VAT. Event extensions with bar service until midnight cost an additional £960 + VAT. Depending on your caterer's requirements, additional small fees may apply for external suppliers, and AV technician services are included in day delegate packages.

The venue can offer tentative holds on available dates while you make decisions. Bespoke proposals are provided with sample menus, and seasonal menu selections (like Autumn 2025) are typically confirmed later in the year. Site visits can be arranged, and the sales team follows up regularly on pending enquiries.
