The Old Courtroom is an elegant room previously used for legal purposes, and retaining a strong nod to its past. In addition to countless books, the room features exquisite details that give it an elegant and sophisticated historical feel which is sure to elevate any dinner and make your occasion really memorable. The room is fully furnished to fit up to 40 people and is perfect for client events and special occasions.

The Old Hall requires a minimum of 120 guests for dining events and can accommodate up to 120 for seated dinners or 200 for standing receptions. For smaller groups of 30-120 guests, meeting spaces are available but require minimum numbers of 30 people.

Room hire for the Old Hall & Crypt costs £2,750 for evening events (17:30 setup, 18:30-22:30 event, de-rig by 23:00). There is also a minimum food & beverage spend of £7,310, bringing the total minimum cost to £10,060 plus VAT.

All catering must be provided in-house - outside food is strictly prohibited. The venue offers various dining packages including Christmas packages at £176 per person plus VAT (minimum 90 guests) and day delegate rates starting from £91-£127.20 per person plus VAT depending on requirements.

Events can typically run until 22:30 with guests departed by 23:00, though extensions until midnight are available for an additional £960 plus VAT. The venue is closed for the entire month of August and closes from April 17th at 15:00, reopening April 28th for Easter.

The venue does not accommodate sixth form proms, events requiring DJ/loud music, or events that don't meet their minimum guest requirements. All events must end by 16:30 for daytime bookings, with all guests departed by 17:00.

Setup access is typically available from 17:30 for evening events, with the main event running 18:30-22:30 and de-rig completed by 23:00. Earlier access from 16:00 may be available for larger events requiring additional setup time.

Security services are mandatory for certain events at £480 plus VAT. Depending on your caterer's requirements, there may be additional small fees. All prices are subject to 20% VAT.

Christmas packages include arrival champagne reception, unlimited drinks (spirits, mixers, house wines, beer, sparkling wine), nibbles, 5 canapés and 3 bowl food items. Standard dinner events can include prosecco on arrival, half bottle of wine per person, and still & sparkling water.

Yes, events can be extended with bar service until midnight and guests departing by 00:30 for an additional cost of £960 plus VAT. This must be arranged in advance as part of your booking.
